David Evans

David Evans

David and his wife Margaret live in Littleworth Rd and have three grown up children, who went to Wheatley Park School. David became a Christian as a student and has been one of the leadership team (an elder) of Woodstock Road Baptist Church for more than 20 years, having previously attended evangelical churches in Wales (Aberystwyth, Swansea) and Oxfordshire (Fyfield). He moved to Wheatley in 1999 and has co-led a Homegroup in the village for a number of years.  He works at the Headington campus of Oxford Brookes University.

 

Jemima Spare

Jemima and her husband, Stephen live on Ladder Hill. Jemima and Stephen met and married in Oxford when they moved here after university.  Jemima works for the University of Oxford in IT Services. Before coming to WCC, she attended Woodstock Road Baptist Church for many years.

Gordon Ewbank

Gordon Ewbank

Gordon and his wife Jill live in Church Road and have two adult children, Francis & Claire. He has held a number of positions of Christian leadership, mostly in an Anglican context, including co-leading a home-group, leading a worship group, PCC membership and acting as a trustee of several Christian organisations, including Fusion UK as Chair. Over the last 10 years Gordon has helped coordinate Fusion’s local mission work, coordinated community festivals and been part of the leadership team for the children’s holiday club on several occasions. In the 90s Gordon was a volunteer with the Samaritans and part of the training team for new volunteers. In his work-life he has held senior management positions in business and developed an interest in how we should live out our faith in a secular work environment.

 

Dan Evenhuis

Dan Evenhuis

Dan and Danni live in Denton with their four children aged 4 to 10. Prior to coming to the UK he taught maths and science in Tasmania for 7 years, 3 of those teaching ‘at-risk’ A-Level students. Dan’s church background is varied ranging from home-church to charismatic. He and his family have been attending Headington Baptist for 7 years where he leads worship and teaches the teens. Now based in Wheatley for 11 years, Dan has been running the UK arm of Fusion, an international Christian Youth and Community work organisation. With Fusion, Dan has supported teams in over 30 communities in the UK helping run over 80 community fundays, several youth cafés and clubs, annual Celtic Pilgrimages and training in youth and community work. In Wheatley Dan has been involved in the after school club, Wheatley’s Summer Club, youth work at Wheatley Park, the youth café and the local fundays.
